Call recording and AI disclosure
Call recording and AI disclosure
Calls with Ava, our AI voice assistant, are answered by artificial intelligence and are recorded and transcribed. This includes calls made to our phone number and calls started from this website.
California and several other states require everyone on a call to agree to it being recorded. You will hear a notice at the start of every call. By staying on the line, or by starting a call on this site, you consent to the recording. If you do not want to be recorded, tell Ava and she will connect you with a person, or email us at info@thatcallthing.com.
We use recordings and transcripts to run the service, book appointments, improve quality and keep business records. We do not sell them. That Call Thing is operated by Ducketts LLC, 31165 Temecula Pkwy Suite G3 Unit #2174, Temecula, CA 92592.
Because callers can be anywhere in the United States, we apply the strictest rule everywhere: every call is announced as recorded, and we do not record anyone who tells us they do not consent.
Information we collect
- Calls with Ava. The audio recording, a transcript, the phone number you called from, call time and length, and details you share on the call such as your name, business name, email address and what you need.
- Booking details. When you book a call, we receive your name, email address, chosen time and any notes you add, through our scheduling provider.
- Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we receive the details you enter.
- Basic technical data. Our hosting provider may log your IP address and browser type to deliver and secure the site.
How we use it
- To answer your questions, book appointments and follow up on your request.
- To run, secure and improve our service and the quality of our AI assistant.
- To keep business records and meet legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use call recordings for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use service providers to operate the site and our assistant. They may process your information for us:
- Retell AI, which runs the voice assistant and stores call recordings and transcripts.
- Cal.com, which handles scheduling and booking confirmations.
- Netlify, which hosts this website and receives contact form submissions.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect our rights and the safety of others.
Text messages
If you ask us to text you a booking confirmation, we will text the number you give us. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Texts are for confirmations and related service messages only.
How long we keep it
We keep recordings, transcripts and booking details only as long as we need them to run the service and meet our legal obligations, then delete them. You can ask us to delete yours sooner.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, including a call recording, by emailing info@thatcallthing.com. California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To avoid being recorded, tell Ava on the call or contact us instead.
Children
Our services are for businesses and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
